Meanwhile, Ray Pradt, ice fishing guide and expert tracker, helps with the initial investigation even as he threatens to engage in an inappropriate relationship with a key witness. Lew's life and career is further complicated when a young woman calls, convinced that Lew is her birth mother.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Pleasant company By Jane Arnold A pleasure to be back in the company of the Loon Lake gang and to see that no one has changed very much. Winter in Wisconsin is not pleasant, especially in the north, but even with murder and mayhem afoot, Lew Ferris, Doc Osborne, and Ray Pratt make the most threatening days feel like being down home. Another good outing for Victoria Houston.

By cms st paul this is part of a series, and each one is very good, the stories are strong and the characters are wonderful. These are mysteries so there is a crime but the violence is not graphic, and there is no sexual content, these books are just very good and easy to read.
