Of coures when I read a series, I always read then backwards. this I belive is one of the first. I have been reading this series and Lou Prophet is a man that gets the job done one way or another. This is no Louis L'amour. These is more blood and sex, but I like it.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Talented Writer By writetrak Westerns should be more than simple 'Aw, shucks! Shoot-em ups' and Brandvold takes them into a more believeable realm with true-to-life characters, well written action sequences, and an accuracy of someone who well understands that real life cowboys and western figures were rugged, salty, and as tough as they had to be. Brandvold knows his territory, weapons, and craft and like Elmore Leonard's westerns his books too provide more than just surface stories and settings. I found his books by accident and because they're such good entertainment I'll remember them on purpose. Now scractch yourself, spit, and and say $%#&*, like a real cowboy woulda done and enjoy the book!
