I've learned a lot about dogs, things I never thought I would have learned. In the book are deeply interesting facts about dogs which usually go unknown. One of these interesting facts is how the leader of a dog pack isn't always the 'alpha male' with a lot of strength, but rather calm and confident, even though the dog is small in size. And the book also mentions how dogs and wolves share a common unknown ancestor, and explains how wolves and dogs are similar and different. Very interesting facts! It also talks about how when a dog does a wrong thing, it doesn't crouch and look sad because it's guilty, but rather because it's showing submissiveness silently saying "I'm harmless!" There are many other interesting facts in the book which had me completely drawn in.Besides the interesting facts, the book talks about how dogs should be treated, and why it is important to have them spayed or neutered. It goes into detail as to why we should do so. It also talks about a variety of different kinds of dogs and the qualities of each. The book goes in depth with regards to all the things that both dog owners should know. Also, it teaches non dog owners about the essential information needed to know about dogs, if he/she plans on adopting one.All in all, I learned so much from this book. If I was to adopt a dog, I would definitely go back to this book as a reference. Everything needed and wanted to know about dogs is in this book.

I love them and I try to be the best friend and owner that I can be. Because of that, I try to be updated in my knowledge about those wonderful animals.This book contains so much great stuff in it, I was genuinely pleasantly surprised. I already know some of the facts in it but I also learned a lot! Especially interesting to me were the parts about neutering and breeding, that was something I didn't know much about.I'm really impressed how much did the author fit in this book. It can look a bit short at first glance, but it is just an illusion – there is so much in it, no fluff, just pure useful and interesting information.I strongly recommend this book to anyone with a dog and anyone who plans to have a dog. There is great section about adopting a dog from shelter, read it before you decide to buy a dog, please :)

By Irene Williams My little girl loves to have a pet dog and since I am not a dog lover, I am definitely clueless about what to do with this pet. Adopting a dog is a serious responsibility I know, that’s why I need this book to guide me. I am amazed by the facts I read, I never thought that dogs can be this lovable and have feelings almost like humans. This book helps me identify what kind of breed will I choose and why. The topics really interest me especially knowing the myths vs. facts about dogs. I have now a better view about its history and learned how to run my life having a pet dog in the house. I feel confident of having one after exploring the facts in this book.
