By jm Just in time for Father's Day and lazy summer reading, this new American folktale explodes with cuss and spirit and heart. Follow the legend of Cotton Kingfisher, 'buck wild iron python rider', as he journeys through the mid-century American West with nothing but a rucksack and a fistful of fight. You'll laugh out loud at his sheer bygod spit in your eye audacity, cry at the ghosts of his sad memories, and hope like hell he can find a home and 'make peace with the earth'.Author Caleb Mannan draws from a rich heritage of Americana, writing in the tradition of Faulkner, Steinbeck, Kerouac, and McCarthy. Bust It has more in common with poetry than prose, and begs to be read aloud (with cold beer and fried chicken handy, of course). Can't wait to see who is cast as Cotton Kingfisher in the big-screen adaptation!
