Another problem with lying is eventually, they catch up with you, as Camille Robertson in Michelle Stimpson book Falling Into Grace finds out. Camille, disillusioned with her life, desperately seeks to change directions, by any means necessary. The fame and fortune she gained as the lead singer in the 1990’s all-girl, R&B group Sweet Treats is long gone. Now, she is stuck in a “real job” as a telemarketer, earning meager wages and living in a crappy apartment. Friends, well, none in sight, due to her habit of sabotaging relationships. On the outs with her only sibling, a touch and go relationship with her father, and the glue of the family, her beloved mother who passed away during her teen years, leaves Camille feeling alone. And abandoned by God. Since God proves He is not in the business of making people happy by taking her mother away, Camille decides He has no place in her life. After deceitfully obtains an agent, she continues to pursue dishonest gain by joining a mega church to display her voice and secretly record a demo in hopes of re-entering the music industry as a gospel singer. Michelle Stimpson book Falling Into Grace provides plenty of laugh out loud moments as Camille attempts to live within the web of lies she created. As she ingratiates herself into the ebb, flow, and activities of the church, the people fall in love with her, and her powerful voice. However, she ran into a problem at the church. She started to care about the people, in particular, the handsome director of music and devout Christian, Ronald Shepherd. Will Camille find her way back to God and fame and fortune? Or, will she continue to take crooked paths and risk being found out?Michelle Stimpson book Falling Into Grace AudiobookNarrator Susan Spain deftly handles the array of vivid vocal characters in this novel. Her presentation of Camille brings out her dissatisfaction with life and determination to make a change at any cost. Her inability to keep track of all of her falsehoods is a hoot. That alone will hold listeners attention. The inflections, various tones, and pauses at just the right moments provides listeners with an accurate portrayal of Camille’s flawed, quirky character.People that read this book with their ears will appreciate the glorious singing. The lively depiction of the various personalities in the church’s youth group entertains tremendously. The narrator’s performances offered up distinct voices to characterize the teens from the serious and sassy to the troubled and lost convincingly.Ladies will love the rich, deep, authoritative voice of Ronald. The narrator portrays the upright man of God, all-business persona through perfect diction, serious tone, cloaked in mystery. Listeners will pull for the fledging romance between Ronald and Camille as their feelings grow. Ear readers, get ready to hear a good story.[...]

Having once been part of a singing group that was known worldwide, she found herself reduced to a sedentary job just barely making it, experiencing things she thought she never would in Author Michelle Stimpson's Falling into Grace..Living her life far from how her mother raised her, Camille knew she had the talent to move forward on her own, but finding an agent without any money was not going to be easy. She decided to do what she had been doing a lot of lately, and that was to lie her way through. At the insistence of her new agent, Camille had to join a church and become a part of their choir or praise team and produce a demo. But after checking out some churches, and finding one a bust, Camille landed at Grace Chapel with an opportunity to sing with the choir. At first she thought she would be able to impress the minister of music, but soon found out that she would have to do as everyone else, and that was to follow the rules. In spite of Camille's intentions, she found that she had fallen in love with not only the choir ministry at Grace Chapel, but the teen ministry and a particular minister of music and allowed herself to believe that just maybe her life would change for the better. But what about the deceit Camille laid out in order to realize her dreams? Will they undo everything she came to love, or will God's grace be sufficient for her and mend other areas in her life at the same time?I enjoyed reading Falling into Grace because it is a story of encouragement. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys stories of redemption and restoration. This book was provided to me courtesy of the publisher for review purposes.Review by Sharel E. I chuckled, then laughed out loud at parts, and got misty eyed at others. I am a born again Christian, and I saw Camille's gradual fall into Grace. Story was realistic, well written and could be any one person on the way to Christ.I give Ms. Stimpson four amen's and a hallelujah, plus one question--WHEN is the sequel? We need to know about Camille's next life chapter!Get this book and you won't want to put it down!
