About the Author
Julius F. Sachse (1842–1919) was a Philadelphia native, historian, author, and amateur photographer devoted to the study and documentation of Pennsylvania’s history. He is known for his work on the Ephrata Cloister, Pennsylvania Germans, and Freemasonry, and for his photographic documentation of Philadelphia’s disappearing historic landmarks.

Pennsylvania History By Penny Helpful to Philadelphia, particularly Germantown, history buffs with descriptions of locations in the 17th and 18th centuries. Those interested in the evolution of Protestant theology in America will find this account fascinating. Be advised, however, that the font is very small and can not be enlarged. Overall it is a masterful piece of research.
