1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A must read for every Indian By saket It is said that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. It is a pity how with congress - leftist intellectual conspiracy, the sordid saga of emergency has almost been removed from Indian psyche. The horrible atrocities, the pliant silence of the media, unjust sentencing of people, even judiciary agreeing to surrender of right to live- we must keep remembering it so as to not repeat the mistakes of the past. The book is more truthful than beautiful and therein lies the strength of the book.

What is very sad in our society that crimes of those times By Shridhar Subrahmanyam This is a personal story of the author during The Emergency and the atrocities that were committed during that time. It is an important contribution to our history and the misdeeds of the Congress Party and those close to Indira Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi. What is very sad in our society that crimes of those times, including several cases of torture and murder, went unpunished.
