About the Author Daniel Robinson’s first career was fighting wildfires, and the experiences from those fourteen years serve as the basis for his first novel, After the Fire. He won the Clay Reynolds Novella Prize for his Depression-era noir, The Shadow of Violence. He has a PhD from the writing program at the University of Denver and has published numerous articles about Hemingway and the post-WWI Lost Generation. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he teaches American literature and runs a small historical collectibles business.

One of a Kind By maestro Roberto Daniel Robinson's style in Death of a Century is truly one of a kind: a blend of crime noir, philosophical meditation, and compelling narrative. This combination inspires a deep and energetic reading that is both thought-provoking and imaginitive. I kept wanting to turn to the next chapter to discover what new twist the protagonist Wynton Gresham might face, but I found I had to pause and ponder the deep-rooted conflicts he and the entire Lost Generation faced.This book captures the energy and attitude of the 1920s in a manner that is accessible and invigorating. It will remind you that writing is a craft--which at its best exhudes vision and sophistication. Readers will enjoy its many facets of quality.

By Amazon Customer A compelling murder/detective plot set in a fascinating post WWI landscape. It reminds us that the Roaring Twenties' Jazz Age, which we usually see through Fitzgerald's eyes or through the lens of prohibition and Al Capone, was also driven by the trauma of war. Robinson does a fine job of reconstructing the lingering psychological and physical damage carried by the lost generation that fought the war.
