Muellerleile Ace and Chance Jensen are the sons of Luke Jensen who was believed to be killed in the Civil War. Their upbringing was unusual. Their talents are too. They get involved in a huge plot being perpetrated by a ruthless gold mine owner who has much bigger plans for the territory once he has gotten control of a Stagecoach Route owned by a elderly guy who has two beautiful, feisty daughters operating the business which is surviving because it has the U. S. Mail delivery contract. Lots of action combined with a bit of romance precedes an unexpected ending after which "Those Jensen Boys" ride on with just a couple of written notes to the young ladies explaining why they had to be on their way. This is 312 pages of good, clean western action which is suitable for young readers.

Ace and Chance are fraternal twins, sons of Smoke Jensen's older brother Luke. He doesn't know of them and they presume him dead at this point, killed in the war. Their mother had died giving birth and they'd been raised by a game b let named "Doc" Monday.The brothers get involved with the Corcoran family, a father and two daughters, owners of a stage wanted by a mine owner named Eagleton. They thwart an assault on the stage making a mail run between two towns.A promising start for the new series.

I like westerns because of the action, adventure and characters of the genre. There are some authors who don’t merit my attention or time, but the Johnstones do! Why? Well, one reason is the craft of writing a good story was passed down from one generation to another. Second, there is usually a minimal amount of cussing with no sexual stuff. Finally, the most important factor is the author’s ability to weave a great story!In Those Jenson Boys! readers are introduced to the sons of Luke Jenson. These boys, Ace and Chance, are very different from each other, but very closely knit brothers. The Jensons know their family history, stick by each other through all situations and they know how the other one will more than likely react in a situation without words being spoken.I found it very easy to get lost in the tale, waiting with anxiously to see how they would help two young women along with their father fight against a man who wants to own the town. The action was exciting. The situations the main characters found themselves in seemed to require cunning besides a quick draw and the ending was a surprise. The brothers fight alongside the underdogs, which makes readers just want to cheer them on to bring down the “bully” of the town.I hope you will read and enjoy the adventure penned by the Johnstones as the book was outstanding! Grab a copy and then prepare to spend a summer afternoon lost in the Old West!
